# Reports

> See how many emails were sent and how many contacts replied, bounced or unsubscribed over a period, and export the numbers.

**Reports** shows how your email activity went over a period: what was sent, and what came back. Open it from the left navigation, between **Mailboxes** and **Settings**, or from the command palette. It opens on the last 30 days for all sequences and mailboxes.

## Choose what to look at

One row of filters sets the view:

* **Period**: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, This month, Last month, or a custom range of at most 366 days that does not end after today.
* **Sequence**: all sequences, or one, whatever its status, archived included.
* **Mailbox**: all mailboxes, or one.

The days follow your time zone, which the filters show as "Days in" and the zone. To change it, open **Settings**. The period, the filters and the breakdown tab are kept in the page address, so a reload, the Back button or a link you share restores the same view. If a sequence or mailbox in a link no longer exists, the report drops that filter and tells you, for example "That sequence no longer exists, so the report shows all sequences."

## The five cards

Each card shows a total, a short note and a chart of the period.

| Card | Counts |
| - | - |
| **Sent** | Emails sent from your mailboxes, including ones refused for a bad address (they also count as bounced). |
| **Replied** | Contacts who replied, counted once for each sequence they are in, on the day of their first reply. Auto-replies do not count. |
| **Contacted** | Contacts who got the first email of a sequence, counted once, on that day. A contact in two sequences counts in both. |
| **Bounced** | Contacts whose email hard-bounced or was refused for a bad address, counted once for each sequence, on the day it happened. Soft bounces do not count. |
| **Unsubscribed** | Contacts who unsubscribed by the link, their mail app's unsubscribe option or a reply, on that day. Unsubscribes you set by hand do not count. |

The information icon on a card shows its definition. A period longer than 31 days is charted and listed by week; a period of one day shows the numbers only.

### Why the numbers can differ elsewhere

Reports counts events on the day they happened. A sequence's own numbers on its **Overview** count contacts as they are now, and **Home** counts replies as messages, so the three can differ for the same period.

## The breakdown

Below the cards, tabs split the same numbers by **Sequences**, **Steps**, **Mailboxes** and **Days** (**Weeks** for a long period). Every column sorts, and a Total row closes each tab except **Steps**. The **Sequences**, **Steps** and **Mailboxes** tabs include the **Reply rate** and **Bounce rate**; **Days** and **Weeks** show counts only.

* On **Sequences**, select a row to see the report for that sequence alone.
* On **Steps**, rates are of the emails that step sent. Select a step to see its sequence alone.
* On **Mailboxes**, select a row to see the report for that mailbox alone.

## Export the numbers

Select **Export CSV** to download the tab on screen with its filters and sort. The file is named `dealtoaster-report-` followed by the tab, the first day and the last day, and is UTF-8 with rates shown to one decimal. A name that starts with `=`, `+`, `-` or `@` gets a leading apostrophe, so a spreadsheet never runs it as a formula.

## When there is nothing to show

* **No emails in this period** means nothing was sent and no replies, bounces or unsubscribes came in for these filters. Select **Show the last 90 days** or **Clear filters**.
* **The report did not load.** Check your connection and select **Try again**; the filters stay usable.

## Deleted and archived sequences

Archived sequences stay in Reports and in the **Sequence** filter. Deleting a sequence removes its numbers from Reports, so archive it instead if you want to keep them.
