# Your account

> Create your account, confirm your email address, sign in and reset a forgotten password.

This page shows how to create a DealToaster account, confirm your email address, sign in and set a new password if you forget yours.

## Create your account

**1. Enter your details**

Open the sign-up page, enter your email address and a password of at least 10 characters, then select **Create account**. By creating an account you agree to the Terms and the Privacy Policy that the page links.

**2. Check your inbox**

The **Check your inbox** page says a confirmation link was sent to your address. Open the link in the email.

**3. Sign in**

When the page says **Email confirmed**, select **Sign in**.

> While DealToaster is in a closed beta, the sign-up page can show **Registration is not open yet** instead of the form, with "Registration opens soon." When an address is set up for invitations, the page also offers **Request early access**.

## If the confirmation email does not arrive

* On the **Check your inbox** page, select **Resend email**. The button shows a countdown ("Resend in ...") for a minute after each send.
* If you try to sign in before you confirm, the sign-in page says **Confirm your email first.** and offers **Resend email**.
* If the link has expired, the page says **This link is invalid or has expired**. Enter your email address and select **Send a new link**.

## Sign in and sign out

Open the sign-in page, enter your email address and password, and select **Sign in**. To leave, open the user menu in the app and select **Sign out**.

## Reset your password

**1. Ask for a link**

On the sign-in page, select **Forgot password?**. On **Reset your password**, enter your email address and select **Send reset link**. The page gives the same answer for every address, so it never tells whether an account exists.

**2. Set a new password**

Open the link in the email. On **Set a new password**, enter a **New password** of at least 10 characters and select **Save password**.

**3. Sign in**

The sign-in page confirms **Password changed.** Sign in with the new password.

If the link is old, the page says "This reset link is invalid or has expired." Select **Request a new link**.

## Change your password while signed in

Open **Settings**, then **Security**, enter your **Current password** and a **New password**. See [Settings, export and deleting your account](https://docs.dealtoaster.io/guides/your-data.md).
